Staying Focused

2016 is in full gear, and I’m really having a hard time staying focused. I have specific goal that I really want to accomplish this year, but for some reason I’ve been letting fear take over a little bit. I feel ok admitting that I’ve been making excuses to not take the next step on certain projects I want to pursue. So, I spent some time this weekend reflecting and realized that I’m allowing outside influences to get me off track!

 That’s has to stop TODAY!
This morning I woke up with a smile on my face…like I normally do, but today I spent a little extra time giving thanks. I realized that I’ve gotten away from my morning routine and it’s important for me to get back in the groove. My routine kickstarts my day and get me motivated.

Normal morning routine:

Wake up (before 6:30 a.m.)

Drink water & coffee (I MUST have my coffee or tea!)

Watch the sunrise (really makes me appreciate life)

Devotional/Pray/Give thanks (My God is good)

Journaling: Write whatever I feel like writing about that day whether it be expressing how happy I am or just to release about something that is bothering me and heavy on my heart.

After that, I have to make my to-do-list!

Finally, I post on IG (I have to keep DiscoverCharmCity updated for you all!)

That routine works for me. I probably should add working out to that routine but hey, let me master this first lol (see another excuse!) Seriously, 3 days a week I HAVE to add that element into my morning routine.

Once I write down what I plan to accomplish that day I typically do!

Starting tomorrow morning, February 10th, I’m back to basics! I’m adding drinking a gallon of water a day, hitting the gym three times a week, and setting myself on a strict budget. I had a plan to only spending $60 a week on social activities, but honestly, there is no way right now I can really show you how to spend under $60 on social activities in Baltimore… because…ok… there this guy who I think likes me 😏, and he keeps inviting out, paying for the fun social activities (he’s not on my $60 budgeting plan). So how can I at this point write about sticking to a $60 budget in Baltimore?!?! Let’s be real, if I attending these events and spent money, my budget would have been blown in the first hour! I am still on the look out for fun activities, restaurants, and bars to check out where the price is low! I’ll continue to keep you updated on what I find.

I have to remember to stay patient with myself and encouraged to continue to push forward even when I’m unsure or feel discouraged. I know whose got my back and that’s all that matters! Plus, I want to make myself proud!

Until next time,
