Discover Charm City practical gift guide

I’m the girl that likes receiving gift cards for my birthday and Christmas because then I can go get something I really like or need. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate any gift given, but only a few people really understand my style, so I’d rather make it easy for the people around me and request gift cards.

Every year my parents ask me what I want for Christmas, and I always say “CASH please or make a payment towards my student loans/debt” – haha, but seriously, that’s the best  gift to me. Getting rid of my debt would be the ultimate gift!

I’m just a practical person.

Get this…my friend’s parent’s got her a $500 Uber Gift card last year for Christmas. I would DIE of excitement if someone did that for me. I mean come on, I use Uber/Lyft all the time, so having $500 worth of credits sitting in my app would be wonderful!

One of the best gifts I ever received was in college from my little sister, who used my parents money of course, to send me a $100 gift card to Dollar Tree. In college, this was essential! I was broke and needed snacks, so that gift card was God-sent.

Basically, I like gifts that are practical and useful in my day-to-day life. I know you have someone in your life like me and the struggle can be real when it comes to gifting. Don’t worry about trying to find the perfect gift for us, just stick to things you know we’d use a lot, or things that would make our life less stressful. Don’t over-think it, we wont think its impersonal if you give us mostly gift cards, we actually will say, ” Oh wow, you know me so well!”

Here is list of practical gifts you can’t go wrong with:

1.) UBER or LYFT gift cards.

2.) Give the gift of travel! Airline, hotel, or even Airbnb gift cards. – A few years ago, I purchased my parents Southwest Airline Gift Cards so that they could book a mini getaway, and they freaked out! They loved the idea. Another example, for my birthday this year, my boss gave me an Air BnB gift card and I was stoked. I didn’t even know they had Air BnB gift cards?!

3.) MAC, Sephora, Ulta gift cards. I love make up but I hate buying it with my own money, so this is perfect.

4.) Notebooks. We love notebooks to stay organized!

5.) Coffee Shop gift card- If you know your loved one buys coffee daily, then HELLO! Buy a gift card to their favorite shop.

6.) Gift card to their favorite local restaurant- Your foodie friend will love you. Seriously, I know how hyped I’d be if I got a gift card to Clavel or Baby’s on Fire #Shoplocal Trust me!

7.) Gift card to the local liquor or wine store – Need I say more?

8.) New white and red wine classes. This is a gift a lot of people don’t think about, but purchasing nice glasses from Crate and Barrel of West Elm, which aren’t expensive, or even from your local vintage shop is a great gift! Practical, and will very much be appreciated.

9.) An Etsy gift card.

10.) Last but definitely not least, you can NEVER EVER go wrong with a Target gift card.

Until Next Time,

xoxo
