Totally Unexpected Charm: Our House

Our House: Locust Point, Baltimore

Our House: 1121 Hull St. Baltimore, MD (Locust Point)

I followed my own advice from my last blog post, ” Flicks On The Hill: Essentials for the perfect picnic”, and ordered pizza to take to the park instead of packing a picnic. This was perfect, instead of me cooking as I normally would to prepare for a traditional picnic. All we had to do was grab the wine, the pizza, and go enjoy Jurassic Park.

I’m all about trying new places and I had read a few reviews on ” Our House” not too long ago while I was searching for a new pizza spot to check out. This was a fantastic opportunity to check it out. Boy, am I glad I did!

Our House is very easy to find. All you have to do is take Fort Ave towards Fort McHenry Park, then turn Left on Hull St.  Continue straight on Hull St until you see the restaurant on your right hand side. I drove to Our House around 7:30 PM, and found parking right in front of the restaurant. Parking is no where near as horrible for example as Canton or FederalHill, so you should have no problem finding a park. Our Place is the cutest restaurant situated in the beautiful Locust Point neighborhood of Baltimore.

DECOR: Totally unexpected. I’ve eaten at an array of restaurants in Baltimore, and I’ve never seen anything like this. As soon as you walk through the doors of Our House, you feel like you are at your Grandparents house. Which to me, is a really good thing. The unique decor gave me a happy feeling inside immediately. I felt relaxed and welcomed.  There are so many cool nic-nacs to look at all around the restaurant. There are vintage stoves used as display tables, wooden furniture (nothing matches which adds so much CHARM), wines & beer for purchase, nifty graffic tees, bumper stickers, board games, books, coffee mugs, flags, and chalk boards written on with bright colors to display different specials being offered. I could go on and on! But, instead here are a few pics I snapped while waiting for my order to come out.

Food- We ordered two pizza’s and two Bavarian pretzels with Spicy Mustard. I ordered a basic 7′ pepperoni pizza and my boyfriend ordered the spinach pizza with grilled chicken added. We loved the deep-dish style and the overall freshness of the pizza. Everything tasted great. You know what I loved most about the pizza?!?! It wasn’t greasy!  I really dislike greasy soggy pizza…we’ve all experienced that and its no fun! Also, Our House has a lot of dessert options.

I definitely will be going back to Our House. I would like to try other items on the menu, because I am sure everything taste pretty good. I suggest dining here if you are looking for a laid-back atmosphere. This is not a restaurant you have to wear your “Sundays Best”, but definitely a great option for a family dinner, girls night out, date night, and any other occasion you can think of. For us, this was the perfect option for our picnic on the hill 🙂

Until Next Time,

xoxo
